Welcome back to school! I hope you had an excellent summer vacation filled with countless memories. The beginning of the year is an exciting time for the staff to hear summer stories from our students. As we begin another school year, we are eager to inspire students to become active learners and be the best students they can be. Together, we will Ensure Student Success by focusing on students’ needs and celebrating successes. ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
The first day of school, staff members will be waiting outside to greet students while classroom teachers will be near their grade level doors. Support staff will be holding a balloon and a clipboard of class lists in case a student is unsure of their classroom teacher.
In the morning staff supervision begins at 8:25 a.m. We ask parents to not have students arrive prior to that time as there is no supervision for students. During the school year all students arriving by bus will enter through Door #1. Walkers/Car Riders will enter through Door #1 or Door # 6. Kindergarten students (walker or car riders) will use the doors leading to their classrooms. Our parking lot closes from 8:25-8:45 AM and 2:45-3:00 PM during the school day. Therefore, no cars will be allowed to enter or leave the parking lot. We ask that parents to please follow these procedures as it ensures the safety of all students. Students need to be in their seats ready to learn at 8:40 a.m. If students arrive late to school a parent or guardian must sign their child into school at our school office.
Nerge’s lunch periods are from 11:00-11:45 AM for 1st through 3rd grade students and 11:45-12:30 PM for Kindergarten and 4th through 6th grade students. Please note: On Half-Day Inservice days there are no lunch periods since students are dismissed at 11:40 AM.
Before the Back to School/Curriculum Night begins, please join us for the PTA meeting in the gym beginning at 4:40 PM. The meeting will be short and conclude in time to attend the grade-level team curriculum sessions.
