With the season of thanks upon us, we want to extend our gratitude to the staff, students, and community of Nerge.  We are fortunate to have a supportive parent community, and thank you for your partnership in the education of our students.  It is truly a blessing to spend each day with your children, watching them learn and grow.

Trimester 1 Report Cards
Report cards for the first trimester went live on the parent portal on November 20th. Please make sure that you have activated your Parent Portal account so that you can access your child’s report card.

Lost and Found

Please come and look at our Lost and Found. We have many gloves, mittens, scarves, jackets, snow pants and boots that want to go home.  We will be donating all unclaimed items to District 54’s Community Closet on Friday, December 20th.

5 Essentials Survey

Once again we are reaching out to our families and asking you to participate in the annual Illinois 5Essentials Survey to provide us with your perspective and help guide our school improvement efforts. The parent survey will be available online through Feb. 14, 2020, at https://survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois.

District 54 Severe Weather Response Plan

Windy City Bulls District 54 Takeover Night – January 10, 2020

The Windy City Bulls will host a District 54 takeover night on Friday, January 10 at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, and a portion of the proceeds from each ticket purchased will be donated back to the District 54 Education Foundation.

The District 54 take-over night will feature District 54 students participating in performances and other on-court experiences before and throughout the game, and a District 54 Special Olympics basketball match at halftime.

Schaumburg Parent University – December classes

Schaumburg Parent University (SPU) is designed to involve more parents in the life of the school, to strengthen family relationships, and to improve parenting skills that will ultimately result in improved student success academically, socially and emotionally. There are two evening programs scheduled for December. Please note that child care is always available.

Mad Isn’t Bad – December 5

Anger can interfere with your child’s academic performance. Dr. Felix Casados, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, will help you develop management skills, learn reduction techniques and rules for fair fighting. You will also learn strategies to reduce tension at home and at school and how to diffuse conflict and reduce anger expression in your children. This class will take place from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5 at the District 54 Early Learning Center’s Multi-Purpose Room, 520 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg. Adults only. Mad Isn’t Bad flyer

Family Caroling – December 10

Join other District 54 families in caroling around the Lakeview School neighborhood and enjoying hot chocolate afterward. This activity, led by Lakeview music teacher Kelsey Richardson, will take place from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Meet at Lakeview, 615 Lakeview Lane, Hoffman Estates. Family Caroling flyer
