From the Nurse: Attention Parents of Kindergarten, 6th Grade, and New students
The Illinois School Code requires that all students entering kindergarten, sixth grade, or any student enrolling in an Illinois school for the first time have a complete physical examination by their doctor. The exam must have been administered within one year prior to entering the grade level.
The State of Illinois also requires documentation of immunizations:
- At all grade levels, Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Measles, Rubella, Mumps, Polio, Hepatitis B and Varicella vaccine are required.
- Tdap is required for 6th grade.
- Meningococcal conjugate vaccine (1 dose) on or after the 11th birthday is required for 6th grade.
- Documentation of these requirements must be received by the school health office no later than Friday October 15th, 2021.
If documentation of these requirements is not received by the above date your child will not be allowed in school. If you send your child to school on the above date without the missing documentation, you will be called to come to school and pick up your child. Your child will not be allowed to return to school until the requirements are met.
Veteran’s Day Celebration and Opportunities
Each year, Nerge takes pride in hosting a Veteran’s Day event to honor our community veterans and this year is no different. Although we are not able to host an in-person celebration, we plan on honoring veterans through a meaningful video presentation that will be viewed school-wide on November 11. Please see the attached letter below outlining various opportunities to be involved in recognizing community veterans and/or making donations to support the Hines VA hospital and the Wounded Warrior Project.
