Physical Educators from across District 54 invite you to take part in this year’s Field Day from the comfort of your own home or backyard the week of May 3rd-May 7th.  All stations can be created using materials from around your home.  Find time for fun on one night, or make the fun last all week!   We have also teamed up with the District 54 Grizzlies, our Special Olympics team, to add adaptations for students who need them so we are sure everyone can participate!  We look forward to seeing your photos and comments on each school’s Padlet

2021 SEL Survey

District 54 is committed to ensuring not only the academic success of each child, but also their social-emotional wellbeing. Similar to this winter, we are asking for your insight as a parent/guardian in creating the most well rounded picture of your child’s strengths and opportunities for growth. To gather your perspective, District 54 will sent families of students in grades 3-8 an email link for each child to the D54 Social Emotional Learning Survey on Monday, April 26.  Thank you in advance for participating in this survey, as we believe the home-school collaboration is critical to best support your child’s overall well-being.

Spring MAP Testing

This spring we will test kindergarten through eighth grade students using the MAP assessment tool.  The MAP testing window is from May 3rd – May 14th.  The computer-based assessment will be administered to students in-person because we know that the most reliable administration and data point comes when students are tested in-person. The purpose of the assessment is to continue to obtain data points on our students and to continue to plan for instruction that meets the needs of each student.

With the testing being in-person on assigned days/times it will be important for the school to partner with families to help this process be as successful as possible.

Important Details on the Spring MAP Assessment:

  • Students will be seated with a minimum of 3 feet of social distance
  • Masks will be required
  • Remote students invited to the building to test
  • Parents or caregivers of remote only students will be responsible for transporting students to and from school on their testing day/time
  • Communication to remote students regarding the date and time of the assessment will be coming from the school
  • MAP testing does require great focus and stamina on the part of the students; therefore on the days your child is testing there will not be additional instruction.
  • Link to symptom screener for remote families

If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher for more details.
