Nerge Elementary School serves approximately 580 students in early childhood through sixth grade. It houses three of District 54’s self-contained special education classrooms.
In addition to the outstanding educational environment, the following programs are available to Nerge students include: Tech Club, Dance Club, Art Club, Patrols, Student Ambassadors, the school musical, and instrumental music instruction for fifth and sixth-grade students.
Nerge also has a very active PTA. This group of dedicated volunteers supports many programs in the school by assisting in classrooms, fund raising and offering cultural arts presentations, book fairs, Reading Recognition, Exceptional Child education programs and other activities.
The school was named in honor of Frederick Nerge, one of the first men to settle and establish Schaumburg Township. The school serves three communities: Roselle, Schaumburg and Elk Grove Village.
