At Nerge, we believe that student involvement builds confidence, connection, and a strong sense of belonging. Our clubs offer opportunities for students to explore interests, develop new skills, and form meaningful relationships beyond the classroom. We encourage every student to find a way to get involved and be part of our vibrant school community!
Multicultural club is a welcoming space for all students, where we celebrate diversity and build connections through shared experiences, and learn about different countries .The club is held Wednesday mornings 7:45-8:30am in the Art room (209) October 29th-April 8th. Grade Kindergarten.
Unified Champions is dedicated to cheering on Special Olympics athletes, especially those in our school and schools nearby, and getting other students involved as well. Our inclusive club will introduce students to other students with different abilities. Our ultimate goal is to create an atmosphere of acceptance and respect at our school and in our community.
This club meets on Thursday mornings and is offered to students in grades 3-6.
6th graders will come in before school to create and tape the Nerge News. Student will rotate jobs both in front of the camera and behind the scenes to deliver 2 weekly broadcasts for Nerge students.
Broadcasting is open to 6th graders and meets Tuesday and Thursday mornings 7:55-8:25 am from October-May.
Drawing club Is realistic Step by step Pencil drawing. We will be drawing in sketchbooks which the students will be able to keep at the end of Drawing Club. Drawing club members will end up having a collection of Fantastic Realistic drawings! The start date is November 7 and it will be held in room 104 on Friday mornings. This club is offered to5th and 6th graders.
Unified Soccer is a welcoming space for all students, where teamwork and inclusion come together through the enjoyment of soccer. The club is held Mondays at lunch 11:45-12:30 in the GYM. This club is open to all students in Grade 4 and 6 and meets October 26-April 7th.
In Singing Club, students will learn all about singing techniques while learning fun repertoire to perform. This is a great club to get music lovers ready to join choir!
The club is offered to all 4th-6th graders, and it meets Mondays afterschool from 3 to 4 PM.
Santa’s Helpers is a club for students in 5th and 6th grade that are interested in spreading some holiday cheer and creating a winter wonderland full of handmade snowflakes, centerpieces, table coverings, wrapped presents, and decorations, AND helping out at the event! Santa’s Helpers Club at Nerge School helps make our Saturday with Santa event the best yet!
Club runs Mondays after school from October until the first week of December.

Service Club is for leaders in 4th, 5th, and 6th grade who want to better our school and community with various service projects. The students work together to coordinate, promote, and execute spirit days and fundraisers at Nerge.
This club is offered to students in grades 4th-6th and meets once a month during lunch.

Student Safety Patrols promote leadership and safety throughout Nerge School. Our Patrols are held to a high standard of responsibility to help the school arrive and dismiss each day in a safe manner.
Patrols is open to 6th Graders and meets every day.
Do you love to read? Do you enjoy friendly competition? Than battle of the books is for you! During this club, you will read books, discuss them, and compete with classmates.
This club is open to students in grades 1st-6th The club is offered EVERY OTHER Thursday morning at 8:00 am. A district competition will be held in April.
Karaoke Club is a welcoming space for all students, where music and fun come together through the joy of singing. The club is held on Tuesdays at lunch 11:45-12:30 in the GYM. This club is offered to Grades 4 and 6 and meets October 27th-April 6th.
Story club is a welcoming space for all students, where imagination and ideas come to life through reading, sharing stories, and engaging in thoughtful discussions. The club is held Friday mornings 7:45-8:30am in the Art room (209) and offered to Grade 6 October 31-April 10th.
Cheer Club promotes positive self-images, team spirit, and physical fitness at Nerge School. Students learn and practice team building skills, cheers, chants, beginning tumbling, and jumps. At the end of each session, the cheerleaders get excited to showcase their skills to families and staff!
This club is held on Mondays for Kinder and 1st grades and Thursday for 2nd-6th grade 1x a week in the Spring.

Students who join this club will participate in 5 monthly math contests. We “compete” against other 4th, 5th, and 6th graders around the U.S. when we try to solve our 5 problems every month. We meet during lunch.
This club runs November through March. It is offered to 4th, 5th, and 6th graders and meets twice a month for the contests.
Game club is a welcoming space for all students, where strategy and teamwork come together through the enjoyment of games. The club is open to all first graders and held Monday mornings 7:45-8:30am in the GYM and runs October 27th-April 6th.
Miss Amaro, Mrs. Komis
In this club, Mrs. Komis and Miss Amaro are looking to inspire future educators. Students will learn about the role of an educator by participating in various activities such as how to create a positive learning environment and how to plan thoughtful and engaging lessons. This club is run before school, starting at 7:45am and runs October 7th through December 16th.
In Logic Legends, students will explore a variety of activities that spark curiosity and creativity. From hands-on physical puzzles to strategic games and brain teasers, members will strengthen their problem-solving skills, practice critical thinking, and have fun working together. Join us to become a legend in logic! This club is open to 4th-6th graders and will meet once a month on Tuesday’s after school from 3-4 starting in January and goes until April.

Led by Ms. Nowak and Mrs. Whalen. The club offers a safe and comfortable space for newcomers to Nerge to meet, talk, and play with friends during both lunch periods on Wednesdays. Beginning 9/24-11/12. If the need arises, a second session can be offered in February to welcome new students.

Led by Mr. Waldau and Miss Barzowski, Rocketry Club meets once a week after school to build real model rockets and prepare for the district Rocket Launch in May! (Club will meet March-April)
Participate in hands-on coding experience that utilizes LEGO Education Spike. Students will use a block-based coding language to help control and move various LEGO builds. This club is available to grades 4-6 and will run March-May. Space is limited due to available materials.
