Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

The safety of all students is our top priority. School supervision begins at 8:25 a.m., so students should not arrive earlier. Remember that the parking lot is closed for bus entry and exit from 8:25-8:40 a.m. and from 3-3:15 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. On Wednesdays, the parking lot is closed 2:30-2:45 p.m.. After 8:40 a.m., parents and guardians must escort their children to the main entrance and follow the next steps with our secretaries. We appreciate your help in ensuring that drop-off and pick-up at Nerge are orderly, smooth, and safe by following the proper arrival and dismissal procedures.

Walkers and Bikers

All walkers and bike riders will cross at Woodfield Trail and Carlsbad Trail. Patrols and adult supervision are present to help students cross the streets safely. Walkers and bikers are free to enter and exit doors located in the front or the back of the school.

Transportation by Family Vehicle

• Students being dropped off by car will use Jennifer Lane. Please follow the “kiss and ride” procedure: quickly say goodbye to your child in the car, drop them off, and then drive away. This helps keep traffic moving safely and efficiently. Students arriving or leaving by car will go in and out from the back of the school.

• Pull up along the school side of Jennifer Lane. Do not drop children off on the opposite side of the street.

• Travel northbound in one direction to keep students and drivers safe.

• Avoid using neighborhood driveways to turn around.

• Drivers will be instructed to pull up as far along the concrete area as possible to fit multiple cars at once.

• Once you have dropped off or picked up successfully (children are safe in the car), please continue down Jennifer Lane.

• If you need to get out of your car to help your child, please pull over about 30 meters beyond the concrete area before stopping.

• Please avoid double parking. Cars should be lined up in a single row approaching the concrete area.

Bus Riders

Student bus riders will enter and exit at the front of the building to access our buses in the parking lot.
