PBIS

Our Nerge Knights have been working so hard earning their colored tickets for showing safe, respectful, and responsible behaviors throughout the beginning of the school year. Their hard work paid off as we earned our first all school celebration by filling an extra-large jar of tickets in the front office! All students got to showcase their best dance moves with an all-school random dance party on October 4. As we continue to work on expectations, an area of improvement to focus on is being safe, respectful, and responsible in the bathroom.

Best Buddy Classrooms

In September, we had our first official buddy meeting. Nerge Knights had a blast getting to know their buddies during an out of this world game of four corners! During the month of October, we are looking forward to Nerge Knights getting to know their buddies even more with a fun activity that incorporates this month’s SEL themes of feelings of others, respectful interactions, and building relationships. We are looking forward to seeing the meaningful bonds that grow between buddies as we meet together this year!

Nerge’s Happiness Team

This month, we’re focusing on Social Investment, an essential aspect of fostering happiness and well-being. Research shows that strong social connections greatly enhance our overall happiness and success. We will showcase “shining star” moments on our all-school bulletin board, highlighting happy memories! Continue to send in or email pictures to your student’s classroom teacher.

At Nerge, we implement social investment through our Buddy Classes, where older and younger students pair up each month for games, crafts, and activities. These interactions not only build friendships but also create a sense of belonging and create a welcoming school community. Our next buddy meeting is on October 22nd, and students will receive their buddy T-shirts that day (thanks to our generous PTA)! Together, we’re strengthening connections and promoting a happier school environment.

Nerge’s Equity and Inclusion Team

During late September and early October we celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month! All students created and displayed papel picados, which are traditional Mexican folk art made of tissue paper. The Nerge halls look so colorful and festive! Additionally, Mrs. Mazzoni shared so many interesting and informative facts about Hispanic culture with us daily on the announcements. We hope that all of our families who observe Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur had an amazing holiday. We look forward to celebrating Diwali this first of November!
